New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s previous film ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ did not do well at the box office. The audience wants to see him make a comeback on the big screen with a powerful film. Currently, it is in the headlines due to its crackdown on fake ads. He has lodged an FIR against a fake advertisement of a political party.
The actor has filed an FIR with the Mumbai Police against the fake Congress ad. The ad features a fake video of a Bollywood superstar created by artificial intelligence, targeting the BJP on the promise of Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s account. This is an alleged AI-generated deep fake video, using a clip from an episode of the Aamir Khan-hosted TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ that aired 10 years ago.
Aamir Khan’s image was messed up
Aamir Khan’s spokesperson has issued a statement saying that the actor has initiated legal action and informed the authorities about the matter. The spokesperson said, ‘We want to make it clear that Aamir Khan has never supported any political party in his 35-year career. He has devoted his efforts to raising public awareness through Election Commission campaigns in the last several elections. We are concerned about the recent viral video in which it is alleged that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party.
Crackdown on fake videos
Aamir Khan’s spokesperson further said, ‘He wants to clarify that this is a fake video and is completely false. He has informed various authorities related to the issue, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police. Khan would like to urge all Indians to come out and vote and be an active part of our election process.
