Malayalam actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi is in controversy these days due to allegations of misbehaving with a woman journalist. Recently, a video surfaced in which he was seen placing his hand on the shoulder of a female journalist while talking to the media. However, he has now apologized for this. At the same time, Suresh Gopi had to appear before the Kerala Police on a complaint registered against him. On Wednesday, Suresh Gopi reached the police station to record his statement. The Malayalam actor was summoned by the police to appear before the investigating officer at Nadakkavu police station.
Several senior BJP leaders including state president K Surendran created ruckus at Nadakkavu police station protesting the police action against Suresh Gopi. Speaking to the media, K Surendran said that the opposition has been targeting Suresh Gopi ever since the actor started speaking out against the ‘injustice’ of the ruling CPI(M) in the state. K Surendran alleged that Suresh Gopi was being targeted as part of Pinarayi Vijayan’s agenda. If the action is not withdrawn, protests will be held across the state.

Crowds of people gathered outside the police station
A huge crowd had gathered outside the police station since morning awaiting the arrival of the Malayalam actor. The crowd was so huge that the actor faced difficulty in getting his car inside. Meanwhile, a large number of police was deployed outside the Nadakkavu police station in view of the crowd of BJP supporters and fans of the actor.
The Nadakkavu police registered a case against the BJP leader last month. The woman journalist sent a complaint against the actor to the city police commissioner. The commissioner handed over the case to the local police station for further action.
