Mumbai: The New Year is now counting days away and only a short time is left for Ramlala’s arrival in Ayodhya. On 22nd January, Ram Lala’s Jeevan Abhishek is going to take place in Ayodhya, about which the devotees of Lord Ram are very happy and full of curiosity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also going to go to Ayodhya on December 30. Along with Ram Lalla’s Abhishek in Ayodhya in the new year, many mythological serials are also set to hit TV and OTT. However, mythological serials have been dominating TV since the beginning. In the 80s and 90s, shows like Ramayana and Mahabharata made their debut and received a lot of love from the audience.
After this many other religious serials ruled the TV world. But, when Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ and BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ knocked again amidst the silence of Corona and lockdown, the magic of these serials was once again seen speaking to the youth. So far, many serials have appeared on TV on the Leelas of Lord Shiva, Shri Ram, Ganesh and Hanuman. This includes serials like Devon or Dev Mahadev, Jai Hanuman, Radha-Krishna, Ram Siya, Vighnaharta Ganesh.
Now with the beginning of the new year, many other mythological serials are also going to hit TV and OTT. That means once again the viewers will get to see the story of Ramayana-Mahabharata. Ramkatha will be shown in grand style on Sony TV from New Year. The serial will be titled ‘Shrimad Ramayana’, which will start from January 1. Viewers can watch this serial from Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
‘Shiva Shakti: Tap, Tyag Aur Tapasya’ will start in the new year on Colors TV and add grace to the channel. This serial is being discussed everywhere. Shemaroo TV has recently come up with a new serial called ‘Karmaphaldata Shani.’ ‘Tulsidham Ke Laddu Gopal’ is also going to be telecast on the channel soon.
Talking about movies, Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Adipurush’ released this year, which failed miserably. But, even after this, director Nitesh Tiwari is ready to bring ‘Ramayana’ to the big screen. It is being said that Ranbir Kapoor may be seen in the lead role in this film and South superstar Yash has been approached for the role of Ravana. On the other hand, the trailer of ‘Hanuman’ directed by Prashant Varma is out.
This time the mythological story will also be seen on OTT. After the immense success of two seasons of the animated series ‘The Legend of Hanuman’ on the platform which typically features urban bold content, Disney Hotstar Plus is bringing its third season on the eve of the New Year. The platform has also announced a grand series on Mahabharata.
